Government doctors in Rajasthan who went on strike three days ago following a police assault on some of them called off the crippling protest om Tuesday following talks with the government.

After extensive negotiation with the government, doctors in Rajasthan have ended a three-day strike that caused a medical crisis in Jodhpur. 1200 doctors had been refusing to work since Saturday night, when doctors and a patient's relatives clashed at Jodhpur's MDM hospital. Doctors say seven of them were injured when the police intervened.

Government-run medical and health services in Rajasthan remained crippled as resident doctors' entered the third day of their strike today, amidst reports that 16 people have died due to alleged lack of medicare following the stir.

The three-day strike by resident doctors in Rajasthan ended today after the government assured them that officials guilty of the lathi charge on residents at MDM Medical College, Jodhpur will be punished.
